Description
Instrumentation: standard Wind band
This lively and well-loved Christmas Carol is given a deservedly-sprightly arrangement here. Lower-pitched instruments are given opportunities to shine and there is use of the distinctive chalumeau register of the clarinets.
There is, perhaps, opportunity just to lift the tempo a little at letter J as the music heads for its climax, which comes in the form of a headlong rush suddenly interrupted and followed by four accented chords, with a short pause on the final one.
