Description
This Clarinet Quintet arrangement is of a piano piece by Grieg. It suits the timbres of these instruments and would be ideal as ensemble music for either GCSE or GCE or as a short concert item.
The key makes it quite a challenging piece and, if necessary, the Bass Clarinet could be substituted by another B flat clarinet, although, of course, the depth of pitch would be lost.
The piece is in Ternary Form, with the lively opening section contrasting with the slower and more chromatic central section. The return of the opening music brings the work to a lively conclusion.
There is also a version for Recorder Quintet in the Recorder section of the website.
