Description
“Galopede” is the name of the traditional folk-dance tune which accompanies a longways progressive folk-dance of the same name. It is a lively tune and well worth playing as a Ceilidh Band item, for an informal concert or at a folk night. This arrangement, although specifically scored, is, nevertheless, for a flexible ensemble, where any or the top four lines in the score can be played by any instrument with the appropriate range. To facilitate performance, the B flat Clarinet part is also available at concert pitch.
Instrumentation: Flute 1, Flute 2 / Descant Recorder, Clarinet in B flat, Violin, Accordion / Piano / Guitar and Bass.
Remember that this is primarily a dance tune and should be played with a real sense of “lift” and enjoyment.
