Description
Also known as Lillibulero, this traditional tune is set as another of my “variable” arrangements, though scored here for 2 Flutes, Clarinet in Bb / C, Violin, Accordion / Piano / Guitar and Bass. It is based on a traditional folk tune, a Jig in 6.8. It is also credited to Henry Purcell (1659 – 1695), composed for his The Beggar’s Opera. It would make a good piece for a Concert, a Ceilidh, for an Ensemble submission for any of the GCSE boards current requirements )providing any rules regarding doubling are observed) or just for fun! As the tune is also used a dance tune and, therefore, should be played with a sense of enjoyment and “lift”.
The download consists of the score and each part as a PDF plus a Sibelius-derived recording.
