Description
This arrangement – for Flutes 1 & 2, Clarinet in C or Bb, Violin, Accordion and Bass – is of three reels I composed in 1984 and have just arranged. The title is in due deference to the writer George Orwell and his book “Brave New World”.
The instrumentation is variable and can be adapted to accommodate what is available and has a suitable range. The Accordion part can be played on Piano or just the chords can be played on a Guitar. The arrangement can be performed as the Ensemble part of a GCSE examination, ensuring that any guidance over doubling is followed.
The Tonic key is either G major or G minor and Reels should be played at a tempo suitable for dancing, though the Tempo indication of MM = c. 90 could be eased a little if required.
