Description
This arrangement comprises three hornpipes that I composed over several years. The first is named after a Great Uncle and one-time Speaker of the House of Commons, while the second and third record visits to different areas within the Lake District.
The scoring is for 2 Violins, a Viola and Cello. The cello can be played arco or pizzicato at the discretion of the leader / performer / occasion. The melody remans in the Violin I line throughout.
It is suitable for performance for String Quartet practice, at a Concert or as part of the Ensemble element of GCSE Performing, in which setting not all three hornpipes need to be performed.
