Description

This extended suite of Renaissance Dances takes three pieces from Susato’s ‘Dancing Master.’ Starting with ‘La Mourisque’, the sample page and musical excerpt are of the second dance, while the third is in triple time, making a good contrast before the arrangement concludes with a brief return of ‘La Mourisque.’

It is arranged for Wind Band / Concert Band with an optional String or Electric Bass part. Many of the parts are cued into other lines to gives greater versatility and enable the pieces to be played even if some of the instruments are unavailable.

It unashamedly harks back to an earlier period, but it should be born in mind that these tunes were specifically written for dancing and to be enjoyed.
