Description
These five arrangements of themes by Classical composers are aimed at students in KS3, though they could also be part of a more general Piano or Music appreciation course.
With music by Beethoven (2), Brahms, Dvorak and Mahler, they cover a fairly wide historical spectrum. The Title page gives a list of the contents. The pieces included should be fairly well-known and, in a classroom setting, could well incorporate listening to at least a section of the movement from which they are taken alongside some biographical and historical information about the composer.
As another example, the Mahler piece is, effectively, Frere Jacques in a minor key and this might lead to experimenting with other melodies in major keys to this way.
The pieces are available as PDFs in a folder.
